Everyone has been incredibly generous in their support for this fund. It was originally organized with the intent to help Thong's family in whatever form they deem most helpful.

With that said I like to note that the family have stated their intention to direct part of the donations towards supporting a children's relief program in Vietnam.

Also, some of Thong's college professors and directors are working on starting (or re-naming) a scholarship fund at UMCP in Thong's memory. Thong's family has graciously directed part of the donations towards this cause as well. Our hope is to make this an annual scholarship fund.

Please do not feel obligated to donate to this fund. Thong's family is also recommending other donation considerations such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Additional Info on Viewing Friday
Friends,
I want to update everyone on the schedule for the viewing on Friday night. Viewing will start at 6:00 PM and will end at 9:00 PM. However, there will be a Catholic Mass (in Vietnamese) during the viewing from 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Just a heads up so people can plan accordingly. Thank you all again for your continued love and support.

The most recent news from my visit to the Montgomery Policedepartment last night with my wife and Phu was that Thong's life wasstolen by a drunk driver. The driver of the other vehicle was citedand charged with a DUI at the scene and taken to the station thatevening. He only had minor injuries.
